We Are Scientists- This Week's Musical Addiction

I've been in a Tegan and Sara phase for a long time now, their album The Con has been my addiction since it's release. They have recently been knocked off their place on the top of my list by We Are Scientists. I was sent along to review their gig in Melbourne last month and since then I've been hooked. The live show these guys do is part stand up, part gig. I absolutely love Impatience from their album Brains Thrust Mastery.

socially awkward moments, revisted...part one

I was talking to a friend of mine who is living in another country on IM...her computer starts to die so we decide to continue the conversation on the phone...as soon as we start talking I'm starting to feel the pressure to talk, I can't think of a conversation starter despite the fact we'd just been typing to each other for the last hour or so...so then as soon as I can I'm handing off the phone trying to get away from a conversation I was quite happily contributing to on my computer...finally I'm given a topic of conversation to talk on and spend the next 20 minutes in a wave of ups and downs trying desperately to avoid the awkward silences and trying not to think because that's when the awkwardness seems to be at it's worst...
